The Dragons are currently in a bad way. Valentine Holmes's missed conversion from right in front summarises how their season has gone so far.
1 win from 16 rounds, the Dragons are set for one of the worst seasons on record. In the NRL era, only 1 side has failed to win more than 1 game, that being the 2016 Knights side.
But this Dragons side has reasons to look forward to 2027. The recruitment so far in getting game changing quality players has been very good.
Scott Drinkwater, Keaon Koloamatangi, Phillip Sami, Luke Metcalf, and Connor Watson all set to join the Dragons next season.
There is also a number of younger players especially in the forward pack who have great potential. Dylan Egan, Hamish Stewart, and the Couchman brothers are all great reasons for Dragons fans to feel confident for future seasons.
With a number of players off contract, and with many players linked with moves away there is no doubt the Dragons will need to keep adding talent to fill out there roster and that is their weak point for 2027 at this stage.
But with buying players in key positions, if the Dragons can effectively add to their bench options, there is no reason they can't compete in 2027.
