The Rabbitohs have piled more misery on the defending champions in an emotional evening in Sydney.
Jai Arrow walked out to a great reception in front of the Burrow faithful as they paid tribute to their star man, Jai Arrow, donning white jerseys in his honour.
Arrow was recently was diagnosed with motor neuron disease; a horrendous incurable and deadly disease that effects motor functions, taking the lives of 800 Australians every year.
Souths as predicted came out red hot, fired up and ready to win. Alex Johnston grabbed a first half brace, as David Fifita made it 2 tries in 2 games since his return from injury.
Up 30-0 at half time Souths were flying with their intensity slowing down in the second half with Josiah Karapani scoring the Broncos only points.
A late second wind saw Johnston scored 4 tries for just the second time in his career to go along with his 2, 5 try games. Debutant John Radel also scored on debut to round off a 5 star performance; the Bunnies winning 48-6.
This extends the Broncos losing streak, not winning a game since their round 8 victory over the Bulldogs.
Since that day, the Broncos have suffered defeats to the Roosters, Sea Eagles, Warriors, Dragons, Titans, and now the Rabbitohs.
For the reining premiers it's now a battle to see if they can make the top 8, and their next remaining fixtures could prove difficult.
The Broncos host the Roosters and the Sharks before heading to a much needed bye, then it's a hard run of games into September, facing the Panthers, Cowboys, Knights, Dolphins, Warriors, Raiders, Storm, and Bulldogs to round out the regular season.
The Broncos currently sit in 14th, just 2 points above the Titans and the Eels, with the Rabbitohs moving back into the top 8.
