22 year old Broncos prop Ben Te Kura has been granted immediate release from the Broncos to pursue an NFL deal.
The highly regarded forward made his debut in 2024, and is the tallest ever NRL player, towering at 2.05 metres.
Te Kura went on temporary leave from the Bronocs in April to attend a six-week NFL training camp.
During his time at the NFL training camp, NFL agent Dwane Bugden said he has what it takes to join the competition following an eight-week program on the Gold Coast.
Te Kura impressed Bugden so much so, he said he could be better than Jordan Mailata, a former Rabbitohs rugby league junior and Super Bowl winner.
“Ben Te Kura has got it,” Bugden said to the Courier Mail.
“He is absolutely good enough to play in the NFL.
“Athletically, he's every bit as good as Jordan Mailata, maybe even better.
“Jordan is a rare beast, but Ben is faster and moves better than Jordan did at the same stage of their development."
Massive praise and encouragement for Te Kura who will now make his move to Arizona to continue his pursuit of a professional NFL contract.
“I'm very grateful to the Broncos for everything they've done to support me in pursuing an opportunity in the NFL,” Te Kura said in a club statement.
