A HUGE £121 Million Bid by Manchester City has been rejected, by Nottingham Forest for midfielder Elliot Anderson.
City lodged a bid worth £106m fixed fee plus £15m add-ons. Forest have rejected, requesting over £120m not including any add-ons.
Manchester City have been keen on Anderson for some time and a bid seemed inevitable, but to come in with such a huge offer, then to be rejected speaks to the market inflation right now.
If the deal ends up going through, it will become a British-record, beating the £125 Liverpool payed for Alexander Isak from Newcastle last season.
It's no surprise City are targeting Anderson, he would be a lock in their midfield for potentially the next decade, and they likely view it as a long term investment.
Site Tranfermarkt, currently values Anderson at £65m, meaning City would fork out nearly double his current value to secure his signature.
A top midfielder, also on the radar of Manchester United, it will be interesting to see how this unfolds and weather City will go straight in with a new bid, or weather Manchester United try and swoop in.
