Mexico v South Africa

A tough return to the World Cup for South Africa, taking on one of the host nations, Mexico, in Mexico City.

The Mexican team and fans will be pumped and will look to make a statement in this first game. Mexico are a far better side on paper, with great depth and options in many positions. South Africa's issue is they don't know their best team and formation.

In recent times they have been guilty of chopping and changing, this potential lack of chemistry, in combination with the quality and fan presence for Mexico means they'll struggle to get something from this game.

Tip - Mexico to win 3-1
Goal Scorer Tip - Julián Quiñones

South Korea v Czechia

A really tough game to pick, with both sides having a great chance to win. Google indicates a 35% chance for both teams to win, with a 30% chance of a draw.

Where I think this game will be won, is with the attack of Czechia. With attacking fullbacks and good options in attack, their recent goal returns I believe will continue, with the imposing physicality and strength up front outweighing the technical and fast paced South Korean side.

Tip - Czechia win a tight game 2-1
Goal Scorer Tip - Patrick Schick
