After a World Cup of unforgettable football, the 2026 FIFA World Cup comes down to its final two matches.

Argentina and Spain will battle for the biggest prize in world football, while France and England meet in the meaningless third-place playoff looking to end their campaigns on somewhat of a high.

World Cup Final: Argentina vs Spain

Prediction: Spain 2-1 Argentina
Goalscorer Tip: Dani Olmo

It feels like a fitting final between two of the tournament's standout teams.

Argentina have shown incredible resilience throughout the knockout stages, overcoming adversity to reach another World Cup final. Lionel Messi has once again inspired the defending champions, but their journey has also been surrounded by controversy, with refereeing decisions and off-field stories dominating headlines throughout the tournament.

Spain, meanwhile, have gone about their business. Luis de la Fuente's side have combined their trademark possession football with a clinical edge in attack, looking like one of the most complete teams in the competition, only conceding once all tournament.

This has all the ingredients of a classic final. Argentina's experience and ability to rise to the occasion make them incredibly dangerous, but Spain's midfield control, rock solid defence, and attacking depth could prove to be the difference.

The player to watch is Dani Olmo. The Spanish playmaker has consistently delivered in big moments and has the quality to find the decisive goal on the biggest stage.

Third-Place Playoff: France vs England

Prediction: France 2-0 England
Goalscorer Tip: Desire Doue

Neither side would have wanted to be playing in the third-place playoff, but there is still pride to play for.

France have once again showcased their incredible depth throughout the tournament and, despite missing out on another World Cup final, remain one of the strongest squads in international football.

England have enjoyed another deep run but fell just short of reaching the final. After the disappointment of their semi-final defeat, motivation could be a key factor.

France's attacking quality should ultimately prove too much. One player capable of making the difference is Desire Doue. The exciting young attacker has enjoyed an outstanding breakthrough on the international stage and looks ready to produce another big performance, in an effectively meaningless but nonetheless significant game.

Who have you got winning the World Cup?
