The Socceroos are out of the 2026 World Cup after a disappointing penalty shootout loss to Egypt. But this side is the youngest at the tournament and had some great moments to get excited for the future.

Considering the ages of some of Australia's key players, here's who could line up come the 2030 World Cup.

To Be There Again/Their Age in 2030:

Pat Beach (26), Lucas Herrington (22), Alessandro Circati (26), Paul Okon-Engstler (25), Jordy Bos (27), Nestroy Irankunda (24), Cristian Volpato (26), and Mohamed Toure (26).

These crop of guys are super exciting prospects for the Socceroos. What's more exciting is the clubs they are currently linked with after their impressive performances, and could have great experience come 2030.

Pat Beach has impressed, and looks the long-term replacement for Mat Ryan. He has prevented more expected goals than any other keeper. He is linked with German side Hannover.

Lucas Herrington will be just 22 in 2030, his maturity and quality was admirable for just an 18 year old. In 4 years he could be playing at an elite level. He is currently linked with a HUGE move to Barcelona.

Alessandro Circati will be the captain in 2030. He's that kind of a character. He is linked with a range of clubs despite already playing at a high level. Brighton, Bologna, and PSG are among the clubs linked with him.

Jordy Bos looks Australia's best prospect. Fast, direct, top class potential. At this moment Bos is linked with Everton, Tottenham, and Leeds. More sides will surely look at Bos in the near future.

Nestroy Irankunda in the last 48 hours has been subject to a bid from Hull City, so an EPL move could be on the horizon for the Socceroos youngest ever World Cup scorer. He has also been linked with Everton, Crystal Palace, West Ham and other.

Cristian Volpato is now a Socceroo for life. He isn't linked with any club, but plays with Sassuolo in Italy. Mohamed Toure isn't linked with any side, but has impressed at Norwich, scoring multiple hattricks. Paul Okon-Enstler is currently at Sydney FC, but no doubt will be linked with a European move.

The New Additions/their ages in 2030:

Dylan Leanord (23), James Overy (22), Alex Robertson (27)

Dylan Leonard made his debut in the back end of last season for newly promoted Schalke. They are a massive side, and back in the Bundesliga, Leonard could develop into a regular starter and be a top prospect for Australia.

James Overy is playing junior football at Manchester United, and despite not playing in the top grade, has been already called up to the Socceroos. With options scarce at wing back, Lewis Miller and Jacob Italiano will no doubt be in the frame, but if Overy can get some experience he will likely be first choice at wing back.

Alex Robertson was unlucky to miss out a spot this time. But with Cardiff back in the Championship, Robertson can boost his stocks and could be a great long-term option in midfield.
