The Premier League action continues with another huge round of fixtures, with Matchday 3 featuring several fascinating clashes across the weekend.
Here are my expert tips and predictions for every match in EPL Matchday 3.
Ipswich Town vs Liverpool
Prediction: Ipswich 1-1 Liverpool
Liverpool head into the match as favourites, but Ipswich could make life difficult on home soil. The visitors have plenty of quality, although Ipswich will be determined to frustrate them and could earn a valuable point. A win in their opening game plus two goals against Manchester United are a good sign, and with Liverpool looking far from their best, the Tractor Boys could spring an upset.
Newcastle United vs Bournemouth
Prediction: Newcastle 3-1 Bournemouth
Newcastle should have too much attacking quality at home after their impressive start to the season. Bournemouth are capable of causing problems, but the Magpies look well placed to score multiple goals and claim a convincing victory.
Brentford vs Sunderland
Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Sunderland
This could be a competitive encounter, with both teams capable of finding the back of the net. Brentford's home advantage could prove decisive in what is expected to be a closely fought match. Brentford look the more settled side and look the more likely to win on paper.
Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham
Prediction: Nottingham Forest 2-1 Tottenham
One of the more interesting fixtures of the round sees Nottingham Forest host Tottenham. Forest will back themselves at home, and I'm predicting they will edge out Spurs in a competitive encounter. Both sides are yet to bag a win, but Forest have looked decent, while Tottenham look awful. This could go either way but it's hard to tip Tottenham at the moment.
Manchester City vs Coventry City
Prediction: Manchester City 3-0 Coventry
Manchester City will be overwhelming favourites at home, and it is difficult to look beyond a comfortable victory. Coventry will need to be at their best defensively, but City should have too much quality with the likes of Rayan Cherki, Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Antoine Semenyo etc. This looks like an easy win for City with plenty of goals.
Fulham vs Crystal Palace
Prediction: Fulham 2-1 Crystal Palace
A tight London derby is expected, with little likely to separate the two sides. Fulham's home advantage could make the difference, with both sides evenly matched on paper. Palace are yet to convince me they won't be in the relegation conversation, with Fulham looking stronger in attack than I thought they would.
Brighton vs Leeds United
Prediction: Brighton 2-1 Leeds United
Tough game this one. Brighton will look to take control in front of their home supporters, while Leeds will be confident they can make an impact going forward. Expect an entertaining game, with Brighton narrowly coming out on top. All results very possible in this game.
Hull City vs Aston Villa
Prediction: Hull 0-1 Aston Villa
This could be a difficult test for Aston Villa off the back of their poor start and Hull's fantastic start, but the visitors have the quality to find a way through. I expect a close contest, with Villa predicted to leave with all three points now the distractions of the transfer window is in the past.
Everton vs Manchester United
Prediction: Everton 1-2 Manchester United
Manchester United face another important test away from home. Everton will make it competitive, but United have enough attacking quality to edge the contest off the back of five goals against Ipswich. Everton fans are also very unhappy with the transfer window, which could be another psychological hurdle giving United the edge in this one.
Arsenal vs Chelsea
Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Chelsea
The match of the round sees Arsenal take on Chelsea in a huge London derby. Both sides will be desperate for the three points in a statement fixture, but Arsenal's defence rigidity and home advantage could prove crucial.
Expect a competitive and entertaining contest in an attack v defence battle, with the Gunners predicted to edge their London rivals in what should be a great game.
