Arsenal v Coventry
Tip: Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

A tough first game back for Frank Lampard's Coventry. Arsenal were fantastic against Manchester City in the Community Shield, with Christos Tzolis and Bruno Guimaraes set to start their first Premier League game for the champions.

Arsenal should have too much quality and should secure a comfortable victory to begin the season.

Hull v Manchester United
Tip: Hull 1-2 Manchester United

This should be a really entertaining game, with the Hull fans in full voice to take on Manchester United. It will be interesting to see how Hull lineup, weather they stick with a back five or go with a four back.

This could change the dynamic of how the game is played by both sides. But one thing is for sure, and that is United have great attacking options that should create enough opportunities to win the game in what could be a surprisingly close encounter.

Ipswich v Sunderland
Tip: Ipswich 1-1 Sunderland

I have been super impressed with Ipswich's business, they give themselves a greta chance to stay up, with their home games being key to doing so. At home in the first game of the season, with plenty of optimism, I think they can snag a point against a really good Sunderland side.

Everton v Crystal Palace
Tip: Everton 2-1 Crystal Palace

Everton could have a few players out in this one, but Crystal Palace I think are a team that could be in a relegation battle. Everton have the quality particularly in the midfield to push for a European spot.

I think this season Thierno Barry could start to find his feet, and with an incomplete Palace side with a new manager playing away from home, I think Everton get the points.

Nottingham Forest v Leeds
Tip: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Leeds

Two sides that look like they could be in for a big season face off in what could be the best, most competitive game of the weekend. All results are possible in this one and it's a very hard game to pick a winner, so I'm sitting on the fence with a draw in this game.

Brentford v Tottenham
Tip: Brentford 2-1 Tottenham

Tottenham should be in for a good season looking at the business they have done, but Brentford have looked great not only last season, but this preseason as well. Coming off a 7-0 win against Frankfurt will give this Brentford side huge confidence that they can push for Europe this season. If Tottenham's defence isn't organised this season, and in this game it could cause them more issues.

Manchester City v Bournemouth
Tip: Manchester City 3-1 Bournemouth

Manchester City are coming off a poor defeat to Arsenal, but at home against Bournemouth they should get over the line comfortably. Bournemouth always give the top sides a good game and this one should be no different. But the attacking quality of City should overwhelm the Cherries over 90 minutes.

Brighton v Aston Villa
Tip: Brighton 3-1 Aston Villa

Aston Villa look like they could field an inexperienced side to take on Brighton, and should get punished for it. Brighton are missing some key players but have the depth and quality to beat this current Villa side who could experience a rocky start to the season after losing some top players.

Newcastle v Liverpool
Tip: Newcastle 1-2 Liverpool

This is an exciting matchup on paper and should tell us a lot about both of these sides. Newcastle are much weakened this season and have a new manager, but Liverpool can get caught out defensively at times. This season is a big one for Alexander Isak and I see him causing issues for his former side, and should perform much better this season giving Liverpool the edge in this game.

Fulham v Chelsea
Tip: Fulham 1-2 Chelsea

Fulham are a side many people are tipping to go down this season. Alvaro Arbeloa has the toughest first five games in the league this season, with this game no exception. Under Xabi Alonso, many people are predicting Chelsea to be in the title race. Chelsea attack looks great, but still have shortcomings in defence, although Maxence Lacroix is a great addition. I think Chelsea nick it in this one.
