Bayern Munich host Arsenal in a blockbuster UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday, October 21, with both sides looking to strengthen their position in the league phase.
The match at the Allianz Arena promises to be a major test for two European heavyweights, with Bayern's attacking firepower set to face an Arsenal side boasting plenty of quality across the pitch.
However, both teams have selection questions to address ahead of kick-off. Bayern could be without goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and midfielder Joshua Kimmich, while Arsenal have concerns in defence following injuries to William Saliba and Piero Hincapié.
Here are my predicted Bayern Munich and Arsenal lineups, the latest team news, injury updates and everything you need to know ahead of the match.
Bayern Munich predicted lineup vs Arsenal

Bayern are expected to use their familiar attacking system, with Harry Kane leading the line and Luis Díaz providing pace and directness from the left.
Manuel Neuer is our predicted starter in goal, although his availability remains uncertain after he recently returned to training following a minor injury. If he is unable to play Jonas Urbig will continue in goal.
Konrad Laimer and Alphonso Davies are expected to provide energy from full-back, while Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah would form the central defensive partnership.
In midfield, Tom Bischof and Aleksandar Pavlović are my predicted selections, offering a combination of ball progression and defensive protection.
Lennart Karl and Ismael Saibari are tipped to support Kane in the attacking midfield positions, with Díaz providing another dangerous outlet.
Arsenal predicted lineup vs Bayern Munich

Arsenal are expected to field a technically strong side capable of competing with Bayern in possession while remaining dangerous on the counterattack.
David Raya is in goal, with Jurriën Timber and Riccardo Calafiori occupying the full-back positions. Gabriel is expected to anchor the defence alongside Ezri Konsa in this predicted lineup.
Declan Rice, Martin Ødegaard and Bruno Guimarães form my predicted midfield three. Rice would provide defensive coverage, while Ødegaard's creativity and Guimarães' ability to progress the ball could prove important against Bayern's press.
Guimarães has been a solid addition in midfield, but Myles Lewis-Skelly has also been impressive this season and could get the nod.
Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke are tipped to start in the wide attacking positions, with Kai Havertz leading the line.
Havertz's movement could be particularly important against Bayern's central defenders, especially if Arsenal look to exploit spaces behind the home side's defensive line.
Bayern Munich team news and injury updates
Bayern head into the match with several important selection questions.
Manuel Neuer — doubtful
Neuer recently returned to training after a minor injury, but Bayern's assistant coach indicated that a final decision on his availability had not yet been made.
Joshua Kimmich — a late decision
Kimmich missed training for personal reasons after a recent family death.
His absence would be significant given his importance to Bayern's midfield structure and ability to dictate possession.
Jamal Musiala — injured
Musiala has been ruled out with a thigh injury, removing an important creative option from Bayern's attacking midfield.
His absence could increase the responsibility on Karl, Saibari and Díaz to create chances behind Kane.
Michael Olise — suspended
Olise is unavailable through suspension. His absence deprives Bayern of another creative attacker and reduces the options available to change the game from the bench.
Arsenal team news and injury updates
Arsenal also have defensive concerns heading into their trip to Germany.
William Saliba — expected to miss out
Saliba is still reported as unavailable with a back injury. His absence is a major setback against a Bayern side featuring Kane and several dangerous attacking players.
Piero Hincapié — ankle injury
Hincapié has been listed as unavailable with an ankle injury in pre-match reports. However, updates on his training involvement mean his final status should be checked before kick-off.
If he is unavailable, Arsenal will need to rely on their remaining defensive options.
Christos Tzolis — hamstring injury
Tzolis has also been listed among Arsenal's reported absentees with a hamstring injury.
His availability and any late changes to the squad should be monitored as the match approaches.
Arsenal's defensive depth will be an important talking point, particularly if Saliba and Hincapié are both unable to feature.
Bayern Munich vs Arsenal: My prediction
This is a difficult fixture to call, with both teams possessing enough attacking quality to hurt the opposition.
Bayern's home advantage and Kane's presence give them a major threat in the final third. Arsenal, however, have the midfield quality to compete for possession and the attacking talent to exploit spaces when opportunities arise.
The fitness of Neuer and the availability of Kimmich could be particularly important for Bayern, while Arsenal's defensive absences could influence how aggressively they approach the contest.
Prediction: Bayern Munich 2–1 Arsenal.
