Goalkeeper - Kepa Arrizabalaga
With David Raya unlikely to be at full fitness, Mikel Arteta will likely depend on Kepa between the sticks as he continues to be Arsenal's cup keeper.
Right Back - Ben White
With Jurrien Timber injured Ben White is the only other out and out right back option.
Centre Backs - Christian Mosquera/Gabriel
With William Saliba also injured, the two obvious picks are Mosquera and Gabriel as the only other natural centre backs.
Left Back - Riccardo Calafiori
Piero Hincapie could start, but Calafiori has a habit of scoring and playing well against City, and will likely get the nod over Hincapie.
Central Defensive Midfielders - Bruno Guimaraes/Myles Lewis-Skelly
This should be a chance to see Guimaraes on his debut in midfield for the Gunners, with Arteta likely to continue to rest Declan Rice. Lewis-Skelly has performed well in the preseason and looks like he will become a regular starter in midfield this season.
Attacking Midfield - Martin Odegaard
Arsenal's skipper should get the nod over Eberechi Eze as their creative midfield option. With plenty of injury concerns last season both players will likely feature, but ensuring Odegaard is good to go ahead of next weekends opening week means he's likely to start.
Right Wing - Ethan Nwaneri
With Bukayo Saka likely to be rested, and Noni Madueke battling an injury, and Ethan Nwaneri part of Arteta's plans this season, he could get a start off the right over the likes of Max Dowman.
Left Wing - Christos Tzolis
A new singing for Arsenal, Tzolis has performed well in preseason and will get his chance to impress in a competitive game.
Striker - Viktor Gyokeres
Days after rejecting an interviewers suggestion Arsenal could treat the Community Shield as a friendly, Gyokeres looks set to lead the line again this season.

Goalkeeper - Gianluigi Donnarumma
With Geronimo Rulli joining, Enzo Maresca could be tempted to hand him a debut, but Donnarumma is the more likely to start.
Right Back - Matheus Nunes
Nunes continues to make right back his home and will likely start off the right side for City.
Centre Backs - Abdukodir Khusanov/Marc Guehi
This season could be a big one for Khusanov, and could establish himself as a starter over the likes of Ruben Dias, and the Community Shield is a great chance to test his combination with Guehi.
Left Back - Nico O'Reilly
Hard to say who starts off the left, with Rayan Ait-Nouri and Josko Gvardiol also great options for Maresca. But O'Reilly was so effective last season I think he starts over Ait-Nouri and Gvardiol.
Central Defensive Midfielders - Elliot Anderson/Mateo Kovacic
Elliot Anderson looks set for his debut following his mammoth transfer from Nottingham Forest. With Rodri set to leave, and City targeting a new option to pair with Anderson, Kovacic could get the support role after featuring several times this preseason.
Attacking Midfield - Phil Foden
There seems to be a general feeling that this season Foden could return to his best football, and maybe that's down the middle again. The Community Shield is great opportunity to see how he likes going back in the middle.
Right Wing - Antoine Semenyo
Semenyo has been excellent in the preseason for City, the only question is which flank he starts off in this game.
Left Wing - Jeremy Doku
I think Doku gets the role off the left, meaning Semenyo goes to the right. With Savinho linked with a move away, and Rayan Cherki having some internal issues at the World Cup, I think Doku is the most likely to start.
Striker - Omar Marmoush
With some rumours circling about Erling Haaland potentially missing the first game of the season, Marmoush starting feels like the safe option.
