Patrick Beach - 7/10
Some nice touches with his feet and some solid long throws from Beach. No tough saves on the night, but another good performance with great anticipation.
Aziz Behich - 6/10
Had a go at his Melbourne City teammate Patrick Beach unfairly, but a fairly uneventful game for Behich, some decent runs and turns to reset the Socceroos attacks.
Alessandro Circati - 9/10
There's a reason top European sides are looking at Circati. His composure on the ball and his physicality is so good, and his driving runs into space from a wide centre back role was very impressive.
Harry Souttar - 8/10
A solid shift from the minister of defence. Won a lot of headers from long balls, not sure why Paraguay decided to play long ball against Souttar, but a good performace from the skipper.
Lucas Herrington - 8/10
Very composed, professional performance from Australia's youngest ever World Cup starter. This game confirms despite his age, that he has the ability to play under massive pressure.
Jordy Bos - 9/10
Great combination down the right with Volpato, Bos looks so good on the ball and can open up so many chances for himself and others. Kept pushing until the final whistle, this guy will go to the very top.
Aiden O'Neill - 8/10
O'Neill seems to be one of those players with not a lot of big key moments, but just goes about his business nicely and does all the small things that has more impact than you realise.
Jackson Irvine - 8.5/10
A great return to the starting 11 for Irvine, he looked really solid in midfield and deserves a crack in the round of 32 in the midfield. Great positioning throughout his stint and had an early shot on target.
Christian Volpato - 8/10
A great first start for Volpato, his combination play with Bos looked smooth down the right hand side. Definitely should start in the round of 32, as he was always very positive and drove towards goal many times.
Nestroy Irankunda - 6/10
A quiet night for Irankunda, but not his fault. Up against 3 huge centre backs playing for a draw, Popovic needed to use Mohamed Toure. Great hustle and effort, but ineffective for much of the game.
Conor Metcalfe - 7/10
Solid performance from Metcalfe, but again not his best position in all fairness. Would love to see him and Irvine in midfield together next game.
BENCH
Ajdin Hrustic - 5.5/10
Decent spell for Hrustic, got into a few good spots around the edge of the box.
Paul Okon-Engstler - N/A
Tete Yengi - 5.5/10
Got the ball a few times in his very short spell, had a big chance to score, but his profile up front was a far better option rather than Irankunda.
