Finding the right budget players is one of the biggest keys to Fantasy Premier League success. Cheap enablers allow managers to fit premium stars like Erling Haaland, Bruno Fernandes, and Cole Palmer into their squads while still offering genuine points potential.

Here's my pick of the best budget options at every position heading into the 2026/27 season.

Goalkeepers
Bart Verbruggen (Brighton) – £4.5m

One of the standout bargains among the goalkeepers, Verbruggen is expected to be Brighton's No.1 and offers excellent value thanks to his save potential and Brighton's improving defence.

Antonín Kinsky (Tottenham) – £4.5m

With Kinsky securing the starting role, he'll become one of the most popular budget goalkeepers in FPL. Spurs may not always keep clean sheets, but regular starts at this price are hard to ignore.

Carl Rushworth (Brighton) – £4.5m

Should he sign for Coventry, Rushworth is one to monitor. If he earns the No.1 jersey with a transfer away from Brighton he'll become a viable budget option. One to watch for now.

Jack Butland (Hull) – £4.5m

If Butland gets the starting role in goal for Hull, he is another decent option. Better options out there but one to consider.

Alex Palmer/Kayne Van Oevelen (Ipswich) – £4.0m/£4.5m

Both represent cheap goalkeeper options if they secure their place as starting keeper.

Defenders
Tyrick Mitchell (Crystal Palace) – £4.5m

An attacking full-back who regularly gets forward and offers clean sheet potential.

Ferdi Kadioglu (Brighton) – £4.5m

Capable of playing on either flank, Kadioglu has the attacking quality to provide assists while benefiting from Brighton's style of play.

Matty Cash (Aston Villa) – £4.5m

Always capable of attacking returns, Cash could prove to be one of the bargains of the season, played really well last season for Villa.

Michael Kayode (Brentford) – £4.5m

A dynamic full-back with plenty of upside, good in attack and defence, and could get assists from his long throws.

Trai Hume (Sunderland) – £4.5m

An attacking full-back who impressed during promotion and could offer excellent value, being able to play on either flank. If he gets that starting role at left back he could be a great pick.

Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa) – £4.5m

A reliable route into Villa's defence with strong clean-sheet potential, if Arsenal sign Konsa he will start over Christian Mosquera who is priced at £5m.

Issa Diop, Leif Davis, Jacob Greaves, Dara O'Shea (Ipswich) – £4m/£4.5m

All likely to start for Ipswich, especially if they opt for 5 at the back. Pick just 1 of them, but all have potential upside.

Jayden Bogle (Leeds United) – £4.5m

An adventurous wing-back who loves to get forward, and with Leeds ambitious window so far he could be a great pick up.

Ola Aina (Nottingham Forest) – £4.5m

One of the best value defenders in the game thanks to his attacking threat and Forest's defensive improvements.

Antonee Robinson (Fulham) – £4.5m

A consistent assist threat who remains one of FPL's most reliable attacking defenders.

Andy Robertson/Destiny Udogie (Tottenham) – £4.5

Could be a great pickup for whoever gets the starting role for Spurs. With Roberto De Zerbi strengening their whole defence they could score well.

Milan van Ewijk (Coventry) – £4m

Will start at right back for Coventry Van Ewijk could become one of the best budget attacking defenders.

Ryan Giles (Hull City) – £4.5m

Known for his crossing ability, Giles is worth monitoring if he earns regular starts over Matt Targett.

Midfielders
Andrey Santos (Manchester United) – £5.0m

A box-to-box midfielder capable of producing goals and assists while remaining attractively priced.

Will Hughes (Crystal Palace) – £4.5m

Offers security of starts and can quietly accumulate points for dirt cheap.

Granit Xhaka (Sunderland) – £5.5m

His leadership and set-piece involvement make him an intriguing value option, and played really well last season.

Mikkel Damsgaard (Brentford) – £5.5m

One of Brentford's main creative outlets with assist potential, off the back of a positive season for the Bees.

Moises Caicedo (Chelsea) – £5.5m

An excellent price for a guaranteed starter, especially with Chelsea expected to improve this season.

Yasin Ayari (Brighton) – £5.0m

One of Brighton's emerging talents who could offer strong value should he continue to play a starting role.

Alexis Mac Allister (Liverpool) – £5.5m

Liverpool's deep-lying playmaker comes in at an attractive price should Liverpool improve this season.

Sandro Tonali (Newcastle United) – £5.5m

A guaranteed starter with the ability to contribute goals from midfield.

Kobbie Mainoo (Manchester United) – £5.5m

One of England's brightest young midfielders who could take another step forward this season. If he starts he's a great option.

Dan Ndoye (Nottingham Forest) – £5.5m

An exciting winger with plenty of pace and attacking upside. Very underselected, but he played really well at the World Cup and could find his feet under Oliver Glasner this season.

Mohamed Belloumi (Hull City) – £5m

A differential option capable of offering attacking returns if he adapts quickly, very skilful and great on the ball. Could be a great option.

Forwards
Igor Jesus (Nottingham Forest) – £6.0m

Expected to lead the line and could prove to be one of the best value forwards available.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds) – £6m

If he can stay fit, Calvert-Lewin has proven goalscoring pedigree at an attractive price.

Brian Brobbey (Sunderland) – £6m

A powerful striker with the potential to hit double figures in goals if he settles quickly.

William Osula (Newcastle United) – £6.0m

Osula is generating plenty of early interest thanks to his likely minutes and affordable price. If he gets that starting striker role, he should score good points.

Dominic Solanke (Tottenham) – £6m

A reliable Premier League goalscorer who should remain central to Spurs' attack, and is reported to be the starting striker this season.

Emersonn (Ipswich) – £5.5m

One of the cheapest starting forwards available and an ideal third-striker option for budget-conscious managers.
