Football is back and has delivered goals, shocks, statement victories and some early warning signs across Europe's biggest leagues.
The Premier League produced seven-goal thrillers and a Bruno Fernandes masterclass, Serie A saw one of the weekend's biggest upsets as Como stunned Napoli, Real Madrid continued their perfect start in Spain, while Bundesliga newcomers Elversberg made history.
Here is "This Week in Football", wrapping up the biggest stories and results from across Europe.
Premier League:
Bruno Fernandes fires a hattrick!
Manchester United produced one of the standout performances of the Premier League weekend, coming from behind to beat Ipswich Town 5-2 at Old Trafford.
Ipswich took an early lead through Leif Davis, but United responded in style. Bruno Fernandes levelled the scores before going on to complete a brilliant hat-trick as Manchester United secured their first win of the season.
Bryan Mbeumo also got on the scoresheet in an important victory for United, who produced 31 shots during an entertaining afternoon.
It was exactly the response Manchester United needed after their opening setback, while Fernandes once again showed why he remains one of the most important players in the Premier League.
A 7-goal thriller at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea's clash with Brighton delivered one of the games of the weekend, with the Blues eventually winning 4-3 in a remarkable contest.
Chelsea raced into a commanding position through goals involving Romeo Lavia, Pedro Neto and Joao Pedro, but Brighton refused to disappear and fought their way back into the game.
Cole Palmer eventually secured the victory for Chelsea, who have now made a perfect start under new manager Xabi Alonso.
The result was another reminder of Chelsea's attacking quality, although conceding three goals will also give Alonso plenty to think about going forward.
Hull go 2 and 0
One of the early stories of the Premier League season is undoubtedly Hull City.
The newly promoted side continued their remarkable start with a 1-0 away victory over Coventry City, with Liam Millar scoring the decisive goal late in the game.
Hull's perfect start has quickly made them one of the competition's most surprising teams, and they have already shown they won't simply be making up the numbers following promotion.
Tottenham stutter again as Newcastle find their rhythm
Newcastle United picked up a major 2-0 victory away at Tottenham, adding to the pressure on Spurs after a difficult start to the campaign.
Tottenham have struggled to find their rhythm early in the season, while Newcastle's performance suggested they could once again be a serious force.
It is still extremely early, but Spurs already have plenty of questions to answer after their opening two matches.
Serie A:
Como stun Napoli
One of the biggest surprises anywhere in Europe's major leagues came in Italy.
Como travelled to Napoli and won 2-1, producing a huge result against one of Serie A's strongest sides.
Martin Baturina opened the scoring for Como before Rasmus Hojlund equalised for Napoli. However, Tasos Douvikas capitalised on a defensive mistake to restore Como's lead and secure a famous victory.
Cesc Fabregas' Como have continued to grow into one of the most fascinating projects in European football, and beating Napoli away from home is another enormous statement.
Top sides on song
Meanwhile, Inter Milan continued their perfect start with a 1-0 victory over Cagliari, with Hakan Calhanoglu scoring the decisive goal.
Inter, Lazio, AC Milan and Juventus are among the sides to have made strong early starts, while Napoli have already suffered an early setback.
La Liga:
Real Madrid the Real deal?
Real Madrid continued their perfect start to the La Liga season with a convincing 4-0 victory over Malaga.
The result maintained Madrid's winning start and further strengthened the feeling that they will once again be among the leading contenders for the title.
Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe were among the players on the scoresheet as Real produced another dominant performance.
Atletico bag 3 points amid Alvarez distractions
Atletico Madrid also produced one of the standout results of the round, winning 3-1 away against Sevilla.
The result keeps Atletico firmly in the early conversation, while their weekend was also dominated by continued speculation surrounding Julian Alvarez and a potential move away from the club.
Alvarez returned to training after missing several group sessions, but uncertainty surrounding his future continues as the transfer deadline approaches.
Aubameyang still scoring goals at 37
Shocks in La Liga include Deportivo Alavaes (3rd), Deportivo La Coruna (7th), and Racing Santander (9th). Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is firing for Deportivo, scoring this third goal of the season in their 3-1 win over Valencia.
Bundesliga:
Elversberg produce insane debut victory
The Bundesliga delivered the most remarkable story on the opening weekend.
Elversberg won their first-ever Bundesliga match by stunning Bayer Leverkusen 3-2.
The newcomers raced into a stunning three-goal lead, with Lukas Petkov, Cole Campbell and David Mokwa all finding the net.
Leverkusen fought back through Patrik Schick and Kofane, but Elversberg held on to complete one of the biggest upsets of the opening weekend.
For a club playing its first-ever match in Germany's top flight, it was a dream start for a side with a town population of just 14,000.
Dortmund win in vain
Borussia Dortmund began their Bundesliga campaign with a 2-0 victory over Hamburg with the win overshadowed with an ACL injury for goalscorer and new signing Giannis Konstantelias.
Ligue 1:
Monaco on the early charge
Monaco are the early leaders in Ligue 1 after making it two wins from two with a 2-0 victory over Marseille.
Paris Brunner was the star of the show, scoring in both halves to give Monaco an important win over one of their biggest rivals.
The result made Monaco the only side with two wins from their opening two league matches, giving them an early advantage at the top of the table.
PSG still winless
Paris Saint-Germain were also involved in a dramatic result, being held to a 2-2 draw by Lille.
It means the defending champions have already dropped points early in the season, while Monaco have taken advantage to move into first place. PSG have started the season with 2 draws and a cup final loss.
