The Socceroos are through!

Ecuador has stunned Germany, coming from behind to secure a 2-1 win, and qualification into the Round of 32.

The shock result of the day; Germany entered the contest as favourites but were punished by a disciplined Ecuadorian side that defended resolutely before taking their chances when they came.

A controversial high foot in the lead up to the opening goal for Germany was ignored by VAR, but Ecuador kept their cool and won a dramatic, historic win!

In a 5 goal thriller, Turkiye have defeated the United States 3-2 in an end-to-end thriller.

Both sides traded blows throughout an entertaining 90 minutes, but Turkiye's attacking quality ultimately proved the difference.

It was 63rd shot lucky for Turkiye, as Arda Guler once again showed why he's regarded as one of football's brightest young stars despite being knocked out of the World Cup already.

Japan and Sweden have both qualified for the Round of 32, after a 1-1 draw to end their group stage matches.

Japan continued their unbeaten start to the tournament and once again demonstrated the organisation and tactical discipline that has made them one of the standout teams of the World Cup.

For Sweden, it was another composed display as they secured the point they needed to progress.

Neither side will be super happy with their performance, but were both solid. Japan is now set to play Brazil in what will be a fantastic game.

Cote d'Ivoire secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Curacao to officially book their place in the Round of 16.

The Elephants controlled the contest from start to finish and rarely looked troubled, continuing what has been an impressive tournament for one of Africa's strongest sides.

Curacao are now out of the World Cup, but have won the respect of football fans all over the world with their efforts during their inaugural World Cup.

The Netherlands strengthened their status as genuine contenders with a convincing 3-1 victory over Tunisia.

The Dutch were clinical in front of goal and controlled possession for long periods, continuing the excellent form that has seen them emerge as one of the tournament favourites.

They surprisingly went full strength with their lineup, but commiserations for Tunisia who have had a campaign to forget.

Australia were unable to break down a stubborn Paraguay side as the two nations played out a goalless draw.

The Socceroos created opportunities but lacked the finishing touch, while Paraguay defended resolutely to earn a valuable point that keeps their hopes of progressing alive.

With the point, Australia has secured a place in the knockouts in consecutive World Cups for the first time.
