As predicted, South Africa totally changed tactics and formations, changing to a 4231 against Czechia.

South Africa have their first points of the World Cup with a 1-1 draw the final result. This will come as a disappointment as they were the better side for a majority of the game.

They let themselves down conceding an early goal, but rescued a point late with a penalty from Teboho Mokoena.

Switzerland also changes tactics and decided to play as a team who expected to win.

In a fascinating turn of events, Switzerland couldn't find an opening goal, but after the first one went in, the floodgates opened with all 5 goals in the game coming after the 74th minute.

A huge win for Switzerland, winning 4-1 after a special late performance from Freiburg wonderkid Johan Manzambi who scored twice.

Qatar looked down and out, and a shell of themselves despite winning 2 Asian Cups. A contender for the worst performance in a World Cup game, Qatar had no shots on target and only 2 for the game with Canada peppering their goal over 30 times, 1 corner to Canadas 19, 22% of the ball, and 2 red cards on top of all that.

A woeful performance, but Canada took their opportunity to put them on the brink of a Round of 32 qualification, smashing in 6 goals to 0.

Jonathan David joined Lionel Messi, as the only players to bag hattricks so far.

Mexico grabbed a huge win over South Korea, as they become the first side confirmed into the Round of 32.

Heung Min-Son was substituted early again after being denied a goal on the line from Edson Alvarez in a brilliant clearance. The theme of last ditch efforts for Mexico continued after an incredible save from Raul Rangel.

At the other end, goalkeeping made the difference with Luis Romo winning the game for Mexico after a horror moment for Kim Seung-gyu, who made 2 key late saves for South Korea in their win against Czechia.
