The Socceroos have stunned the world, with the biggest upset of the World Cup so far, winning 2-0 to kickstart another run towards the knockouts!

Coach Tony Popovic made some huge calls, leaving out the experience and quality of Jackson Irvine and Maty Ryan.

The Socceroos as anticipated operated with a low block, using the pace of the attack to transition and hit Turkiye on the counter attack.

Wonderkid Nestroy Irankunda delivered, scoring a phenomenal goal to put the Aussies on top.

The second half consisted of clearances, blocks, long-shots by the Turkish side, then a brutal counter attack punishing Turkiye with another stunner, this time from distance from Conor Metcalfe.

What a start for the Socceroos! The Turkish side looked dejected at full time, with poor body language throughout the game revealing frustration.
