Arsenal have beaten Manchester City again in the Community Shield, as the Gunners start their season with their first silverware.
Riccardo Califiori created Community Shield history, scoring the fastest ever goal in the competition after finishing off an excellent through ball from Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Arsenal then doubled the lead after Christos Tzolis's header assist lead to a header goal from Kai Havertz as he continues to score in meaningful games.
Manchester City had chances, but Arsenal's scramble in defence held strong going into half time two to the good.
In the second half City saw the return of forgotten £100m man Jack Grealish, but Arsenal dished out more punishment with Martin Odegaard finishing off yet another Christos Tzolis assist.
From then Arsenal went into first gear with few significant chances for either side, with Arsenal sealing the first silverware of the season! 3-0 winners on the night.
Arsenal Player Ratings
David Raya - 8.5/10
Made some handy saves especially in the first half, no flaws in his performance.
Riccardo Califiori - 9/10
Scored a great early goal, but was super involved in the play making his signature attacking runs all over the place.
Cristian Mosquera - 8/10
Great pace and positioning from Mosquera, super composed performance.
Gabriel - 7/10
A quiet game by his standards, Gabriel went about his business with no nonsense and make some key tackles and interventions.
Ben White - 6/10
Got skinned by Jeremy Doku a few times but didn't really have a lot of impact in the game.
Myles Lewis-Skelly - 8/10
Set up the first goal with a great turn and pass. It definitely looks like the midfield will be his home from now on.
Bruno Guimaraes - 7/10
Only played 45 minutes, but Guimaraes looks so natural in this Arsenal side. His passing and composure on the ball made the midfield tick in the first half.
Martin Odegaard - 8.5/10
Captain Odegaard looks back at his best, if he can avoid major injuries this season he could be a huge part of this Arsenal side. A great goal, and a real willingness to get on the ball.
Christos Tzolis - 8.5/10
Two assists on debut, Tzolis looks a great addition to this side. Selfish when he needs to be, a team player when he needs to be, his reading of the game situation was top class.
Noni Madueke - 5/10
A mixed performance from Madueke. Held nice space and had plenty of ball in attacking situations, but his predictability lets him down at times.
Kai Havertz - 7/10
Scored Arsenal's second but was relatively quiet. Did his job with no nonsense.
BENCH
Declan Rice - 7.5/10
Classy as always, Rice makes this Arsenal side tick, his composure and tempo is so good to watch.
Bukayo Saka - 6.5/10
Got involved with some key chances but failed to convert any. But a positive display from the bench.
Piero Hincapie, Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, Eberechi Eze - 4/10
No real impact on the game for these subs.
Manchester City Player Ratings
Gianluigi Donnarumma - 2/10
A horror showing from Donnarumma, who got sat down on every Arsenal goal. A poor display from one of the worlds best keepers.
Nico O'Reilly - 4/10
Substituted early, O'Reilly failed to impact the game at all.
Josko Gvardiol - 7/10
A solid display from Gvardiol he can hold his head high. Covered territory well and was reliable as usual.
Ruben Dias - 4/10
Similar to O'Reilly, Dias had a very quiet evening with nothing to shout about.
Abdukodir Khusanov - 5/10
Had a tough assignment marking Tzolis, but yet another City player with nothing to talk about.
Mateo Kovacic - 6/10
A solid display from Kovacic with nothing much to shout about. Had a nice combination with Elliot Anderson, but no big plays or moments.
Elliot Anderson - 7.5/10
The pick of the bunch for City, Anderson looks a great fit in their system. He controlled City's attack and got plenty of touches up and down the pitch.
Phil Foden - 5.5/10
Didn't have the impact he would've wanted but had a decent shot on target in the first half. Foden looked fast on the counter attack but overall a mediocre display.
Jeremy Doku - 6/10
Only played 45 minutes, but beat White several times one on one. Harshly subbed in my opinion.
Antoine Semenyo - 6.5/10
A decent performance from Semenyo he tried to manufacture chances for City, but lacked proper support at times from his teammates.
Erling Haaland - 5/10
A very quiet evening for Haaland who only had one chance in the game before he was sent for an early shower. A disappointing night for the Norwegian.
BENCH
Marc Guehi - 6/10
Got up the pitch and tried his best to make things happen.
Omar Marmoush, Rayan Cherki, Jack Grealish, Rico Lewis, Nico Gonzalez - 4/10
No real impact on the game for these subs.
