Day 5 threw up all sorts of curveballs.

Spain took on Cape Verde in Atlanta, with the minnows shocking the favourites holding on to a 0-0 draw.

Spain dominated the game with over 20 shots, over 60% of the ball, and over 10 corners. But the hero was the unlikely 40 year old keeper Vozinha, who performed heroically in goal for Cape Verde.

Potentially a huge moment that could dent Spains hope of winning! Argentina lost their first game last World Cup to Saudi Arabia, so certainly no need to panic for Spain, but a very disappointing day at the office for them.

Talking of Saudi Arabia it was much the same story in their game against Uruguay, who dominated proceedings but found themselves behind early thanks to Abdulelah Al-Amri.

Saudi Arabia taking the lead inside 10 minutes meant they shut up shop and were on the end of significant pressure until they cracked.

Maximiliano Araujo's final involvement before being substituted was scoring the equaliser for Uruguay. Despite their late chances, Saudi Arabia held on to a valuable point, but Uruguay looked threatening especially in their midfield; Federico Valverde winning player of the match.

Ones to watch for sure.

Belgium has continued their lack of wins in a tightly fought 1-1 draw against Egypt.

This was a very closely fought game despite Belgium being big favourites and it was a fair result on the balance of play.

Emam Ashour scored his first goal for Egypt and it was a beauty. The attack of Egypt had great chemistry and movement off the ball. Ziko, Salah, Ashour, and Marmoush could do wonders for Egypt.

Finally, the match of the day without doubt was Iran v New Zealand, which ended in a 2-2 draw, Iran coming from behind on two occasions.

Both teams showed great teamwork and technical ability, with the games best goals both coming off the boot of Elijah Just.

These teams played exciting football, Iran and New Zealand fans should be pumped by their teams performaces.
