Switzerland continued their strong group campaign with a hard-fought 2–1 win over Canada, sealing top spot in the group and their place in the round of 32.

Ruben Vargas struck early in the second half before wonderkid Johan Manzambi doubled the lead, giving the Swiss control of the match. Canada pulled one back through Promise David late on, but couldn’t find an equaliser despite sustained pressure.

The result ensures Switzerland progress comfortably, with Canada settling for second place in the group, missing the chance to sweep the group.

Bosnia & Herzegovina delivered a strong performance to defeat Qatar 3–1, ending Qatar’s tournament hopes. Bosnia controlled key phases of the match and punished defensive errors, turning their final group push into a convincing result.

Kerim Alajbegovic was the story of the game, becoming Bosnia's youngest World Cup scorer, scoring a stunner from outside the box, becoming the youngest player to do so since 1966.

It was a needed response after a mixed start, while Qatar exit the competition after another disappointing group-stage campaign.

Morocco have progressed to the round of 32 with a lively 4–2 win over Haiti in a match full of attacking momentum and defensive lapses on both sides.

Morocco’s quality in the final third proved decisive, but Haiti’s ability to score twice showed resilience despite already being eliminated. The result means Morocco finished second on goal difference in their group, and head into the knockouts on a huge unbeaten streak.

Brazil delivered one of the most dominant performances of the day, sweeping aside Scotland 3–0 to strengthen their position at the top of the group.

Vinicius Junior starred with a first-half brace, before Matheus Cunha added a third after the break. Scotland struggled to contain Brazil’s pace and attacking movement and rarely threatened in response.

The win reinforces Brazil’s status as group leaders, while Scotland now face uncertainty and likely rely on third-place qualification scenarios.

Vinicius Jr bagged his third consecutive player of the match award in a rout for the South Americans.

South Africa pulled off a crucial 1–0 win over South Korea in a tightly contested match that went down to fine margins.

The result is historic, meaning South Africa will play knockout football for the first time in their history, while South Korea miss the chance to secure a more comfortable path through the group.

Mexico rounded out the day with a commanding 3–0 win over Czechia, maintaining a perfect record in the group stage.

Goals came after a controlled start, with Mexico eventually breaking down Czechia’s resistance and finishing strongly in a second half masterclass. The result ensures they finish top of the group with maximum points and without conceding across all their matches so far.

Czechia, meanwhile, exit the World Cup after being outclassed in their final outing.
